Statutory compliance and renewal dates

What a compliance item is

A requirement attached to a property or an asset: fire safety, lift inspection, water quality, HVAC, electrical, insurance, a permit, or something else. It carries the issuing authority, the certificate or permit reference, the issue and expiry dates, and the certificate document.

Authorities are recorded as you enter them, for example the Ghana National Fire Service or the EPA.

Who is responsible

Each item names an owner. An obligation with a date but no owner is an obligation nobody is going to renew.

How lapses surface

Each item has a renewal lead time in days, defaulting to 30. From the expiry date and that lead time the platform derives a state: expired, due soon, or fine.

The renewal queue shows what needs acting on. Recording a renewal updates the item with its new dates.

• Expired — the date has passed.
• Due soon — inside the renewal lead time.
• Otherwise the item reads as valid.

The honest limit

The platform tracks dates and documents you give it. It does not verify a certificate with the issuing authority, and it does not renew anything for you.
