Finding your way around as a renter
What each panel on the renter dashboard is for, and which parts of it are not yet doing real work.
The panels that are live
Four things on the renter dashboard are backed by real records and update as you use the site.
- Saved homes — every listing you have tapped the heart on.
- Your applications — one row per application, with the date and the current status.
- Notifications — messages the platform has written for you, newest first.
- Your tenancy — appears once a tenancy exists, and opens the agreement, rent schedule and timeline.
Raising a complaint
There is a Raise a complaint button in the dashboard header, on purpose. A route to a dispute should be findable without having to ask anyone where it is.
Complaints are categorised, and the category sets how quickly a first response is due. A deposit not returned or a threatened eviction is treated more urgently than a slow repair.
The rental passport
The rental passport is meant to be a profile you fill in once — employment, income range, household size, preferred region, budget, guarantor and an emergency contact — and reuse on every application.
The screen exists and the table behind it exists, but the form does not yet save what you type into it. Until it does, put anything a landlord needs to know into the message box on the application itself.
Do not rely on the passport screen to carry your details to a landlord yet. What reaches them is your name, your verification tier and your application message.
The viewings panel
The Viewings panel currently shows a fixed example entry rather than bookings of yours. Viewing scheduling is not wired up. Arrange viewings by messaging the landlord.
