Arranging a viewing
There is no booking calendar yet. Viewings are arranged through messages, and this is how to do that safely.
How it works today
Viewing scheduling is not built into the interface. The Request a viewing button takes you to sign-up, and the viewings panel on the dashboard shows an example rather than real bookings.
What does work is messaging. Message landlord on a listing opens a conversation between you and the owner of that property, tied to that listing. Only the two of you can read it.
- 1Open the listing and choose Message landlord.
- 2Say when you can attend and ask them to confirm a time and a meeting point.
- 3Keep the arrangements in the conversation, so there is a record of what was agreed.
- 4Attend, and check the property against the listing before discussing money.
Nobody may charge you to view
There are no agents on Domicium and no viewing fees. Being asked for a fee to see a property, or for a commission, is a sign that something is wrong. Agent posing as a landlord is a complaint category with a one-working-day response target.
Sensible precautions
Distance and haste are what scams rely on. Slow both down.
- View before you pay anything at all.
- Take someone with you, and tell a second person where you are going.
- Check that the rooms, the meter, the water supply and the address match the listing.
- Keep the conversation on the platform. A request to move to another app before any money changes hands is worth pausing over.
If the property does not match its listing, Listing does not match the property is a complaint category. If someone asks you to pay outside the platform, report that too.
