Requesting a verification upgrade
Who may request what, what the reviewer is allowed to do, and why an officer cannot approve their own request.
What you may request
A request is always for a tier above unverified, and it names a subject: either a person or a property.
For a person, you can only ever request verification for your own account. For a property, only its owner or its named manager can request. Both restrictions are enforced by the database function, not by the form.
One open request per subject and level. Submitting again while a decision is pending is refused, because the same evidence queued twice ends up in front of two officers.
How a check gets recorded
The individual checks — email, phone, Ghana Card, selfie, bank, address — are recorded by Domicium staff, one at a time. Recording one is the act of verifying, so each is written to the audit log with the officer's identity and any note they left.
Staff cannot record a check against their own account. Ticking "bank matched" without looking is how a silver badge ends up on an agent's account, so the action is attributable by design.
How a decision is made
A reviewer can only decide a request that is still pending. A decision is final for that request: re-deciding would let an officer flip an outcome after the fact, so the way back is a fresh request.
- To approve, every check the tier requires must already be recorded. If any is missing, the approval is refused with the outstanding items named.
- To reject, the officer must write what was wrong — at least a sentence — so it can be corrected and resubmitted.
- Nobody may decide a request they raised or a request about themselves. A tier drives search ranking, so self-approval is self-promotion.
What you are told
Either outcome sends you a notification. An approval says what tier the account now holds; a refusal carries the reviewer's written reason.
Both are written to the audit log, which cannot be edited or deleted afterwards by anyone, including administrators.
Where your documents go
Evidence is held in private storage buckets for identity documents, selfies and property documents. Nothing in the verification flow exposes a file path publicly; the review screen mints short-lived signed links on the server when an officer opens a case.
The document upload panel on the landlord verification page is not yet wired to the request functions. The requesting, recording and deciding logic described above is live in the database and in the admin review screen.
