What the verification badges mean

The four tiers

Tiers are earned with evidence and cannot be bought.

• Unverified — identity not yet confirmed. Never appears in public search.
• Bronze — the lister's identity, phone and email are confirmed.
• Silver — ownership or management authority documents supplied, and the bank account matched.
• Gold — the property has been inspected or verified by video, with GPS confirmed.

Why a colour is not enough

A tier bundles several very different assurances into one word. Somebody proved who they are. Somebody proved they may let this property. Somebody looked at the building. The pin is where they say it is.

Deciding whether to send money turns on which of those actually happened, so each listing carries an evidence panel that shows the checks one by one: lister identity, authority to let, property inspection and location confirmed.

A check that has not been done says so

Each check reads as done, done but lapsed, or not done. A missing check is shown rather than hidden, because hiding it is exactly what lets a badge imply an inspection nobody performed.

Documents, video and a physical visit are not the same

The three inspection methods are recorded and displayed separately, and they are not interchangeable.

• Documents reviewed — ownership or management papers were checked. Nobody from Domicium has seen the property.
• Live video walkthrough — an officer was walked through on a live call and saw the rooms as they were that day. The walkthrough was guided by the lister.
• Physical inspection — an officer attended in person, unaccompanied by the lister where possible.

What verification cannot tell you

Identity says who someone is, not how they will behave. Authority is confirmed at the point of checking and can lapse afterwards. A confirmed location means the coordinates were captured at the property, not that the map is showing you the exact address.
